Initially employed as a Field Service Engineer, Stan led a team through the highly visible MOV diagnostic project at the Davis Besse Nuclear Plant following the 1985 loss of feed water event. During the following year Stan performed or directly supervised diagnostic testing at twenty-six nuclear power plants including plants in Japan, France and Mexico.
Promoted to Field Operations Manager in early 1987, Stan assumed responsibility for all field operations and a staff of 16. By October 1987 the field staff had grown to sixty-plus engineers working assignments at nuclear plants worldwide.
